The spirit of pride, the sense of accomplishment, and the joy of learning is the essence of the Maude H. Trefethen Elementary School. This feeling is reborn every September when the children of New Castle continue their adventure in their classrooms. Activities are designed to stimulate learning, and encourage creative thinking. Lessons encourage children to develop a sense of wonder, curiosity, and imagination. As a staff, we strive to provide the children with various activities that challenge them to practice and master concepts. We ask that they build a repertoire of strategies that help them acquire skills needed for their success as a learner. Our goal is that each child will discover his/her individual learning style, accept responsibility for his/her behavior, and delight in exploring the world of knowledge.
This website is designed to give you an overview of the school and to assist parents with the success of their son/daughter.
