- Meet Our Teachers
- Why we love MHT!
- How to Apply
Our goal at MHT is to meet every child where they are academically, socially and emotionally while guiding them on their journey as learners.
School experiences are designed to develop children's self-esteem and love of learning.
Mary Jones, Grades 2-3
Mary has been a teacher for 16 years and has been at MHT since 2016. Her areas of interest are literacy and project based learning. What she likes most about MHT is the community feel and the ability to design instruction to meet the needs of each learner.
Mary received her BA in Elementary Education from University of Scranton and holds a Masters degree in Literacy from Providence College. She is currently completing her Reading Specialist endorsement through Granite State College.
David Latchaw, Principal
David has been the Principal at MHT for 6 years having previously worked as a high school assistant principal and sixth grade teacher covering all subjects. David holds a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Kinesiology: Outdoor Education, a Master of Education (M.Ed.) in Elementary Education, a Master of Education (M.Ed.) in School Principal and an Education Specialist (Ed.S.) in Educational Administration and Supervision. What sets MHT apart from other schools, and what David enjoys most about working there, is MHT's uncanny ability to individualize the educational experience for each child in a manner to maximize their potential.
Anna Spalding, Grades K-1
Anna has been a Pre-K, Kindergarten, Grade 1 and Grade 2 teacher since 2000. Her areas of interest are outdoor education, the arts and science. She enjoys working in her vegetable garden and cooking from her cookbook collection. What she likes most about MHT is the collaborative mixed grade level learning experiences and the individualized attention provided to each student. Anna received her BA in Art in Education from Hobart and William Smith Colleges and her Masters degree in Literacy from Lesley University.
Will Purcell, Grades 4-5
Will Purcell has been teaching for over 15 years. His areas of focus are literacy and math problem solving. Will has sent all three of his children through MHT, so he is both a teacher and a parent at MHT!
